Driver caught after fatal crash on PCH in Malibu, killing four Pepperdine students.

A 22-year-old driver has been arrested for manslaughter after a fatal collision in Malibu. Four college students died and two others were injured.

Six pedestrians were involved in a collision at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday along Pacific Coast Highway, 4 miles east of Pepperdine University, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Four women were pronounced dead at the scene and two others were taken  to a hospital but there was no word Wednesday on their conditions.

Pepperdine first conveyed through X, previously referred to as Twitter,  that the university authorities presumed the deceased individuals had  connections with Seaver College of Liberal Arts.

Later, Pepperdine's president, Jim Gash, confirmed that the four fatalities were, in fact, students of the university.

The institution confirmed that Niamh Rolston, Peyton Stewart, Asha Weir, and Deslyn Williams, all in their final year of studies, were affected.

Sheriff's Sergeant Maria Navarro stated that the male driver has been apprehended under the suspicion of committing vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence.

Investigators believe the driver of a dark BMW was speeding west when they lost control and hit three parked cars before colliding with a group of pedestrians 25 miles west of downtown LA.
