Joran van der Sloot admits responsibility for Natalee Holloway's death.

According to court documents, the prime suspect in Natalee Holloway's disappearance in Aruba has finally confessed to killing the Alabama teenager after almost twenty years.

Joran van der Sloot's admission was made public shortly after his guilty plea in federal court on Wednesday, where he was charged with extortion and fraud against Holloway's family.

After 18 years, the individual confirmed that the Natalee case has been resolved. They revealed that the perpetrator admitted to causing Natalee's demise in a formal statement known as a proffer.

Judge Manasco sentenced van der Sloot to 20 years for the federal charges following his involvement in the deaths of Holloway in 2005 and Flores in 2010, to which he had already confessed.
