In the opening half of the game, former Packer, now a Raider, Davante Adams, was limited to just one target and one reception, gaining 12 yards. Meanwhile, tight end Michael Mayer and receiver Jakobi Meyers shone on the field.
Meyers made a significant contribution by catching a 9-yard touchdown pass, executing a well-timed slant route in front of safety Rudy Ford. This play, part of a 14-play, 62-yard drive, marked the only touchdown scored thus far in the game, giving the Raiders a 7-3 lead with 4:09 remaining in the first half.
Before heading into halftime, the Raiders managed to add a field goal, establishing a 10-3 lead.
The defensive units dominated the first half, with the Raiders accumulating 155 yards and the Packers 112. Notably, the Packers successfully sacked Jimmy Garoppolo three times, while the Raiders capitalized on a turnover, with linebacker Robert Spillane intercepting Jordan Love and returning the ball 23 yards, positioning the Raiders at the Green Bay 7-yard line.
However, the Raiders couldn’t capitalize fully and gained only a yard, ultimately settling for a 26-yard field goal by Daniel Carlson with 2:32 left in the half. The conclusion of the second quarter saw Carlson’s 53-yard field goal attempt blocked by Yosh Nijman with just seven seconds remaining.
Anders Carlson, Daniel’s sibling, contributed the sole points for the Packers with a successful 37-yard field goal.
As for the performance on the field, Jordan Love completed 7 of 12 passes for 56 yards, along with one interception. He also carried the ball twice, gaining a total of 36 yards. Meanwhile, AJ Dillon had eight rushing attempts, accumulating 28 yards, and tight end Josiah Deguara made a single reception for 19 yards.
On the Raiders’ side, Jimmy Garoppolo demonstrated his accuracy by completing 12 of 17 passes, accumulating 126 yards and scoring a touchdown. Receivers Jakobi Meyers and Michael Mayer made notable contributions with Meyers securing four receptions for 53 yards and Mayer making two catches for a total of 39 yards. Running back Josh Jacobs carried the ball nine times, gaining 24 yards.
Injury-wise, the Packers suffered losses in the first half with linebacker Quay Walker (knee) and safety Darnell Savage (calf) both exiting the game and being listed as questionable for a return.
