Israel rejected calls for a Gaza ceasefire and vowed to intensify operations against Hamas, without specifying when.

Netanyahu emphasized the government's stance at the Ramon air force base, stating that the hostages must be returned before any ceasefire. He urged for the removal of any ambiguity surrounding this requirement.

The Israeli military has employed a multi-pronged approach, utilizing  ground forces, air support, and naval power to relentlessly strike Gaza and expand its presence in the confined coastal region. 

The objective is to dismantle Hamas' infrastructure, eliminate high-ranking officials, and disrupt their command and control  mechanisms.

Israeli forces have encircled Gaza City and are engaged in intense urban warfare against Hamas militants, making it difficult to establish a temporary ceasefire due to the inherent risks and uncertainties.

According to Reuters, Itamar Yaar, former deputy head of Israel's National Security Council, stressed the need for professional and methodical work to minimize harm, regardless of time constraints.
