According to a recent report, the iPad Air is set to receive single-stack OLED screens, along with an 8.7-inch iPad mini in 2026 and a new 12.9-inch iPad Air in 2027.
It has been reported that Apple has been actively pursuing the adoption of OLED screens for the iPad Pro. According to the latest rumor, this display technology is expected to make its way into the 2024 iPad Pro and 2026 MacBook Pro.
There have been previous claims suggesting that Apple will introduce OLED technology to the iPad Air and iPad mini in the future.
ETNews, a Korean publication, confirms that the iPad Air and iPad mini will have single-stack OLED screens by 2026, after the iPad Pro's release in 2024.
According to the report, Apple is planning to incorporate OLED technology in both a redesigned iPad Pro and a brand-new 12.9-inch iPad Air by 2027.
The iPad Pro is expected to have a dual-stack OLED display, which extends its lifespan despite the technology's known shorter lifespan.
Apple switched suppliers to get a better OLED screen upgrade, opting for a double-stack system. Samsung refused to create this exclusively for Apple, leading to their removal from Apple's plans.
Samsung reportedly shifted its focus to double stack development within a short span of time, aiming to regain orders from Apple.
